In this appointment the advisor identifies any needs that may have to be addressed to assist the Client in achieving their goals and aspirations.

Once the Client signs an undertaking to appoint the lead advisor, standard analytical techniques are adopted that ensure that the advisor becomes fully familiar with the Client's business. This method identifies the skills and resources required to assist the Client in achieving their goals and aspirations.  

In addition to the lead advisor's wide range of skills he has access to the Institute's network, comprising some 5000 Accredited Advisors - throughout the World and over 200 in South Africa, to provide specific expertise and skills that may be needed. Thus the Client has access to a full palette of skills that would normally only be available from the Board and Senior Managers of a large company.

The Business Support Program is paid for by clients on an affordable monthly retainer basis - which can be structured to suit cashflow constraints.

This assistance can take the form of:

• crafting business plans,
• conducting diagnostic analysis of the business areas and results
• developing forecasting methods
• defining and developing strategy,
• crafting marketing plans
• executing competitor analysis activities
• developing sales strategies and plans,
• conducting a feasibility study,
• developing budgets,
• assisting in setting up a best practice management accounting system,
• assisting with cost exercises,
• assisting with re-structuring of the business,
• assisting in obtaining finance to run or expand the business, 
• drafting systems and procedures and
• generally advising, in an unbiased manner, the business owner.  

This retainer, normally 16 hours per month - some carried out at the Clients premises and others on Research and project work,  also allows the client to draw on the consultants time as and when required and each client is given telephonic support at no extra charge at any time of the month.

The result is that, for a fixed known and affordable cost, Clients have access to the full range of skills that would normally only be available in large companies through the Board or from Senior Managers that come at a premium.
